Potionomics strikes a balance between self-aware storytelling and comfortable gameplay with a pleasant, fun tempo.

The game play mechanics mesh so well together.

The card part is quite a lot like Griftlands (only 1 deck here though) and the shopkeeper part is like recettear. The tough part with this game is time management. You really have to plan out your day to get the most. It is fun experimenting with potions to see what you can go over/under to still get good results. I highly recommend if you like shopkeeper games, and if you like card/deck building games, even more so. The deck building is not super complicated, as you only unlock cards from becoming friends with the NPCs, as well as major events. The only downside is, just like in pretty much every other shopkeeper game, you have a debt to pay off.this is incredible so far. the visuals have been complimented by everyone because they’re that good. the characters are endlessly expressive, and even with the lack of voice acting all have an amazing amount of personality in how the speak. the gameplay consists of shop management and brewing potions, along with meeting and hanging out with characters, and haggling and negotiating, which plays like slay the spire, with proper deckbuilding elements and everything. this mix of genres somehow works perfectly, and you’ll get into a groove of managing your time with all of these activities, all while listening to a beautiful soundtrack Every element feels curated to put a smile on your face as you chuckle at lines of dialogue and meta-gaming-humor. If you liked Battle Chef Brigade for its mix of culinary affection, platforming and match-3 mechanics, you’ll probably enjoy this.

Fun and surprisingly challenging. The main meat of the game

the haggling card game is quite engaging and very enjoyable to me. The mechanics surrounding the collection of ingredients and cooking of potions are also interesting, with an element of randomness to the kinds of ingredients you get, so sometimes you will have to make do with what you can to make the potion that you want. Presentation is also very well done, from the animations to the dialogue. Character designs are varied and unique. Music is serviceable. Writing wise, all the characters have very distinct personalities and are well written and the overall plot really works well with the actual progression of the game as well. An incredibly delightful eco-management game with fun fusions of economics, deckbuilding, time management, and incredible fun.. Potion Craft: Alchemist Simulator

The game is not easy. It does not hold your hand to ensure you can beat the first “competition,” and, I’m sure, will not do so for the future ones. It is challenging, yet rewarding. The type of game that rewards you for taking your time, figuring out the best course of action in both the deck building, as well as the resource management. As a bonus, the romance options are adorable, and the game actually rewards you for befriending characters. I could not be happier with this game at the moment, though I did not expect the difficulty that is has, which may turn off some people. As a suggestion, perhaps a difficulty setting could be introduced for those who may want to enjoy the world-building and growing characterization of the game, without the barriers that exist currently?

Potionomics This game manages to merge 5 unlikely genres into a very nice package.

Where many shop management or deck building games aren’t really focused on graphics, Potionomics puts their graphics and character designs up front. The vendors and recurring customers you can befriend and romance put a nice bow on the package of the game, and it really sells it for me. I had a hard time going to sleep on release day because I kept wanting to just play until the next day or until I brewed the next big potion. As you meet the friendly NPCs, if none of them strike your fancy don’t worry! You’ll meet more as you progress. Potionomics brings a dizzying amount of genres into a delightful package tied together by immaculate artwork, animations, and music. The characters are charming and the writing is self-aware without being annoying. Illuminaria

Each part of the potion-making and selling process is engaging with a respectable amount of depth without ever feeling too micromanagey. I’m excited to keep playing through the days, making profits, and getting to know these goofy characters. Highly recommend. Take the daytime calendar management of Persona and the deckbuilding cardplay of Slay the Spire and you get a hell of an addicting game. Characters are all charming and quirky and are delightfully animated, though there’s lacking some transitions between poses across text boxes that I hope gets improved. Difficulty is tuned pretty well, as I’m approaching the second competition and I’m constantly feeling like I’m getting by on the skin of my teeth. Highly recommended, I can’t put this down!
